The name Amisha is a combination of names of parents of Amisha Patel, Amit & Asha. She has an older brother Asmit Patel, who is also a film actor. After graduation, he worked for a finance company and made occasional models. Ameesha returned to India and joined the theater Satyadev Dubey and began acting in plays. She was discovered by Rakesh Roshan at a family party and signed by her "Kaho Na Pyar Hai" opposite his son Hrithik Roshan. The film was the highest grossing film of the year and Amisha became a star of the night. After "Kaho Na Pyar Hai", Amesha did many movies and all were successful at the box office, except "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha". "Gadar" was a super hit film and gave new impetus to his career as an actress. She won many awards for her performance in Gadar. In addition to acting in Hindi movies Amisha Patel also made four Telugu films. His recent film released is "Bhool Bhoolaiya". Amisha Patel has recently signed a new movie, directed by Kunal Kohli, who also stars Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee.
